This is what I came home to today after picking hubster up from work. My son was supposed to be home but instead, took off and left the goat in the house.
Sissy stepped on these seedlings, smashed 6 beyond saving.
Ate all my replacement hot peppers, the artichokes, the newly sprouted herbs too.
Then, Sissy jumped on the turkey brooder top, caved it in and killed half the turkey poults trying to get out.
Gee son, thanks for keeping an eye on the farm while I'm gone. At least you could have been smart enough to put the goat out before y ou ran off to hang out with your friends......

No, I don't imagine you are! I am soooo sorry this all happened! The turkey part is especially sad!!!! I truly wish I could do something to help. What kind of herbs did you have started? Or need? Maybe I have some that you would want some starts off of that I could send you before it gets too much hotter to mail stuff. Mine are still pretty small, but I am sure I could get a start off of a few of them.
ReplyDeleteAww that's such a shame. We raise our own poultry and I know I'd be devastated at a loss like that.
ReplyDeleteOh wow. So so sorry. If it helps, similar thing happened here once, but the damage was done by 7 full grown Toms.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I hope you saved the mess for said son to clean up when he got home. Sorry for the poults, turkeys are hard enough to raise once they have hatched, so that is a real set back, plants are slightly easier to replace.
ReplyDeleteoh yes I sure did leave it for the son. All he had to do was put the baby goat outside and none of this would have happened. Shes like a lonely puppy and gets into stuff when no one is around. Just a baby goat being a baby goat. I'll be glad when I can wean her. Been working on folding her into the herd, it's kind of working.
ReplyDeleteAh, the "son" moments. Having had two of them it's all too familiar. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh there would be some freshly tanned hide...
ReplyDeleteis your son old enough to be evicted? golly i am sorry you had to find this when you got home...and i bet you are angrier because it was human error that caused it and the human is someone you love. life can sure be complicated and i am sure glad i am not filling your shoes right now.
ReplyDeleteThere would be consequences for son! six turkeys is lots to lose. Maybe he could get quarter rations of turkey at turkey meals? Is he young enough to ground? I am angry and sad for you all the way down here in Alabama! You have had lots of setbacks from this in-house goat and now from goat with aid of son. sorry
