I really had no intention of writing about this at all. But, the amount of emails asking me about it has prompted me to make a formal response...
First off, I'm a homesteader. I work hard every day to grow my own food because I do not like being fed chemicals and preservatives combined with some politician telling me I am not smart enough to know what's good for me. I use what I know to try and help others achieve a small bit of self sufficiency too. Through this blog and various other forums across the internet. The forum in question is the American Preppers Network forum. "FREEDOM THROUGH TEACHING OTHERS SELF RELIANCE" You do not need to be a member of this forum to read what I wrote in the thread that was quoted. Quoted by whom you ask? Ah, here's the real kicker! The Anti Defamation League (ADL) put out a report in pdf form called "Violent Voices: Anti Government Extremism Takes on New Intensity". It seems, to fit their agenda, they chose to pilfer a single line from what I posted on a thread about the healthcare vote and used it in their opening paragraph of the Introduction. here is what they used..... “The antichrist [President Obama] will sign this [health care legislation] and start stealing money from our hard earned paychecks immediately, with his newly hired IRS agents as his strongarm. Bloodshed is coming…” Post by “mmpaints” on the American Preppers Network Forum, March 22, 2010.

I watched the entire fiasco via cspan live thru the day and into the evening. We have no representation in Congress, the process is a total joke. The people that stood up to speak against the bill were constantly interupted and talked over and Nancy Pelosi is so far out in left field, it's amazing. The speaker of the house has got to be on drugs. Not a single Republican voted yes on any of the votes and the Dems still crammed this down our throats. 2/3 majority my ass, this was nothing short of criminal. The antichrist will sign this and start stealing more money from our hard earned paychecks immediately, with his newly hired IRS agents as his strongarm. Bloodshed is coming..........
So, apparently it isn't defamation if the ADL says it. It seems to me that it's pretty obvious where the agenda of this "Leftie" group is coming from. Frankly, as far as I am concerned, the ADL can kiss my Constitution.
As for me, I will continue to grow my own food, free of the poisons pushed on us by corporate America and I'm going to recite the Pledge of Allegiance every single morning at the top of my lungs, in my front yard so the whole world can hear me.
Now, back to working on the garden. I wonder if my home made pig crap, goat crap, rabbit crap fertilizer mix will explode? ROFL Fecal matter goes boom, they all smell like pig crap. Sounds appropriate to me........

ReplyDeleteI usually lurk here but thought I'd comment: we too decided to move to the country to homestead because the chemicals and preservatives in store-bought food cause my son to become, well, unmanageable and not very nice. With gmo in corn and just about every other big-farm product, the fertilizers, the processing and so forth, this was really the only solution. I understand why you said what you said, and unfortunately understand the need for big media to sensationalize anything to get more viewers/readers. Keep it going. ReplyDeleteMy first child was born 14 weeks premie, and all the others way too early! And that's what pushed my to eating "homegrown" and educating myself! Seems we all get pushed under for being educated ;) (My first pulled through and is healthy and intelligent today)

ReplyDeleteI couldn't read the whole screed at the link as I felt my blood pressure rising along with my anger. There really is no hope of harmony in this country if an organization that was founded on the premise of, "Never Again", doesn't realize or chooses to ignore how our government, and not just the current crop in office, have subverted the Constitution.
I'd venture to say 75% of the population doesn't even know what freedom is or that the Constitution was written to LIMIT government and to enumerate exactly what powers were to be granted. It's very explicit and easy to understand that there only a small number of things that the Feds are legally granted to do. Things started going to hell long before our time and will continue until we have an "American Revolution 2.0"
Oh for heaven's sake. So now Freedom of Speech is extremist? That organization needs to implode. They spew hatred with every word they utter - perhaps they should be the subject of their own investigations. Ugh. I'm so sorry you're the latest victim of their propaganda-smear campaign...

The published "Anti-Government Extremist Report" you were cited in is filled with selective bias, emotionally charged commentary, and discriminatory allegations.
The ADL should be held accountable for such idiotic rhetoric, especially when it is known that the ADL's National Director, Abraham Foxman, an advisor to the American Jewish World Service, has partnered with ONE Campaign and calls upon Jeffrey Sachs as one of their Advisors. Jeffrey Sachs is but one of the partners, George Soros is another. The ONE Campaign has a long list of board members and advisors, among them: Michelle Obama, Bono, Michael R. Bloomberg, John L. Doerr, among others.
Yes, THAT Obama. THAT Bono. THAT Bloomberg. And, yes, John L. Doerr, the Director. Also sitting on Obama's Economic Recovery Advisory Board. Yes, THAT John L. Doerr....Director at Google. Director at Amazon.com, Inc. And yes, a general partner in the gonna-get-rich-with-Cap-n-Trade Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield, & Byers.
So, let's refresh our memory....the ADL is a non-profit, non-government organization with a mission to preserve civil rights, bigotry, and anti-semitism. REALLY? The recently published ADL report is anything BUT a non-biased, neutral, well-researched report. The report was thrown together in an attempt to dismiss the legitimacy of Conservative, common sense Americans. It's just that simple. And the last time I checked The U.S. Constitution, we still had the right to our voices and the right to assemble. AND the right to vote. Or should I say vote out....
First, for the ADL to report their conclusion on Page 2 with NO evidence that "many militia members and other extremists believe that the recently passed health care legislation will be followed by the mass legalization of illegal immigrants, postponement or elimination of democratic elections, martial law and gun confiscation" is not only irresponsible but is unfounded.
Aside from personal commentary that was garnered from internet websites and news portals, there is no scientific evidence, reports, statistical information, or documentation to conclude any such allegation. Their "findings" are poorly collated and frankly, very elementary.
Worse is their unbelievable, yet seemingly ditto-headed prognostication of imminent violence when they declared "the extend of these sentiments, combined with their sometimes shocking virulence, should serve as a warning sign that the violent rhetoric of today may be followed up with violent actions in the future."
The only violence I have witnessed during the past 6 months has come from the left and the far left during demonstrations both here and abroad (during the Global Warming summit farce). Perhaps it is time to speak truths about the violence that has been observed.
Attempts to provoke conservative Americans into violence through extreme rhetoric such as the ADL allegations in their "Anti-Government Extremist Report" is yet another example of how desperate the radical, far left agenda has become. Predictable.
America's disgust with Obama's radical agenda and the overall lack of respect for our Nation has enabled millions of Americans to come together in a grassroots fashion while challenging our government. Facts and common sense will always be of the utmost importance. The days of name-calling, Alinsky-style ridicule are over. We The People will have our voices heard in November.
If speaking up and speaking out against the Socialist agenda in the White House at this time, call me another Extremist. I've already been labeled with that choice of wording by the illustrious Janet Napolitano anyway.
America is tired of the BS! Our forfathers are rolling over in their graves. The ADL is a joke!
